Kristyn Michele (they/them)
is a non-binary actor, singer, voice teacher, and songwriter in Henderson, NV with a background in opera and musical theatre.

Kristyn recently World premiered Ancient Hymns and Prayers by Samuel Lord Kalcheim - a song cycle composed specifically for their voice, based on ancient texts translated by the composer himself. Of the performance, NY Concert Review hailed that, “Kristyn Michele sang with a pure and focused tone and captivating emotional involvement.”

Kristyn is also known for their performances as Albert DJ Cashier in the Trans Entertainment Guild’s 2022 production of The Civility of Albert Cashier Off-Broadway.

Some of their role highlights as a mezzo-soprano include Jo in Little Women by Mark Adamo, die Knusperhëxe in Hänsel und Gretel, as well as Ruth in Pirates of Penzance, and Dame Quickly in Verdi’s Falstaff.

Since beginning hormone replacement therapy in 2018, Kristyn has used their training and knowledge in Vocal Pedagogy to assist themself through their voice change.

They are passionate about increasing understanding of the physiological effects of hormones on the voice and breaking down stigma around changing voices - not only as it relates to the TGNC community, but for all singers.

Kristyn holds a Master of Music Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and both a Bachelor of Music Performance and a Bachelor of Music Education from SUNY Fredonia.
